About our cause
Kevin Cruise Foundation provides a much loved and valued service for the community. We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service!
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is rich in culture and heritage and well served by multiple venues across the borough, such as Theatre Royal Windsor, Windsor Fire Station, The Desborough Theatre, Norden Farm Centre for the Arts and The Magnet Leisure Centre, as well as dozens of smaller venues across the borough, such as village and school halls.
However, it is also a borough of great diversity and, despite remarkable projects and efforts from our local arts centres, we have identified a need for further exposure to the performing arts, particularly for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Kevin Cruise Foundation is a response to this need. Set up 2017, initially as the Royal Borough Theatre Project, the initial aims of the foundation were to offer complimentary theatre tickets to children, families, carers, schools and charity volunteers.
In 2018 The Foundation realised that more needed to be done to extend our service offering and we therefore re-branded to The Kevin Cruise Foundation to give it new life and meaning. The Foundation reviewed its charitable objectives and is now offering performing arts workshops, supporting schools music provisions and generally encouraging high standards of art.
Our Charitable Objectives
- The promotion of the arts for the public benefit within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, in particular but not exclusively, with the provision of performing arts workshops, musical instruments and teachers to schools, playgroups and children’s hospices, provide funding for community projects, shows, events and encouraging high standards of art.
- To provide fully funded or subsidised tickets for the public benefit within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead for young people to see professional and amateur theatre performances who are socially excluded or whereby personal finances cannot extend to such provisions and help them to integrate into society.
- To provide fully funded or subsidised tuition for the public benefit within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead for individuals or groups to further careers in the Arts, both performance and technical who are socially excluded or whereby personal finances cannot extend to such provisions.
